My agency composed “Let’s Talk About Love” as the anthem for the Love.Hugs.Peace. movement, empowering kids to make a difference in the world. Multiple versions were available in stores and online and for every song purchased, a $1 donation was made to Save The Children. The year-long program launched with David Archuleta’s version, followed by Natalie Cole, Meaghan Martin, Menudo, and Jamia Nash, each recording their song in our studios. I creative directed and produced a music video for each version.
In addition, we also developed a user-generated singing contest to find the next star to sing the song. Entrants uploaded their video submissions and Guests voted online for their favorites. The top five videos became the contest. Finalists and won an all-expense-paid trip to Los Angeles to compete before a live crowd and celebrity judging panel. The contest winner, 11 year old Itzel Figueroa, recorded her version of “Let’s Talk About Love” at our recording studio and was available for download along with the other celebrities.
The song has been downloaded over 105,000 times resulting in over $100,000 donation to Save The Children and the videos have been viewed over 1,000,000 times on YouTube. In Build-A-Bear Workshop’s virtual world, Bearville, exclusive “Let’s Talk About Love” content has been viewed over 500,000 times.
